Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between you (“the Client”) and Bloom With Jacqueline (“the Doula”) for the provision of antenatal, birth, and postnatal support services.

1. Scope of Services
​
The Doula provides non-medical support, which may include emotional, physical, informational, and practical assistance throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postnatal period.
​
The Doula does not:

Provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
-
Perform clinical or medical tasks
-
Make decisions on behalf of the Client
All medical care remains the responsibility of the Client’s chosen healthcare providers.

2. Booking & Payment Terms
​
-
A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure the Client’s booking
-
The remaining balance must be paid by 38 weeks’ gestation, unless otherwise agreed in writing
-
Payment plans may be arranged at the Doula’s discretion
Failure to pay the remaining balance by the agreed date may result in withdrawal of services.

3. Antenatal Support
​

The service includes two antenatal sessions, where reasonably possible
-
These sessions are intended to support preparation and informed decision-making
​
-
The Doula may provide information and signposting but is not acting as a certified antenatal educator
Ongoing support is available via agreed communication channels throughout pregnancy.

4. On-Call Period & Birth Attendance
​
-
The Doula will be on call from 38 weeks’ gestation (unless otherwise agreed)
-
During this period, the Doula will remain reasonably available 24/7 and within a commutable distance
-
The Client agrees to notify the Doula in a timely manner when labour begins
The Doula will make every reasonable effort to:
-
Attend the Client within approximately 90 minutes of being called
-
Remain in attendance throughout active labour until shortly after birth
For longer labours, the Doula reserves the right to take reasonable breaks for rest and personal needs.

5. Postnatal Support
​

A postnatal visit is included within the agreed package
-
Additional postnatal support may be included or booked separately
-
Additional sessions are charged at the agreed rate or pre-paid package
All postnatal support is non-medical in nature.
​
6. Communication
​
-
The Doula is available for general communication between 8:00am and 5:00pm during pregnancy
-
During the on-call period (from 38 weeks), the Doula is available 24 hours a day for labour-related contact only
Response times may vary, but all reasonable efforts will be made to respond promptly.

7. Client Responsibilities
​
The Client agrees to:

Provide accurate and relevant information regarding their pregnancy and care
-
Keep the Doula informed of any significant changes
-
Contact the Doula in a timely manner when labour begins
-
Ensure full payment is made as agreed​
​
8. Limitations of Liability
​
While every effort is made to provide continuous support, the Doula cannot guarantee attendance at the birth due to circumstances including, but not limited to:
-
Rapid labour
-
Failure of the Client to notify the Doula in time
-
Illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond the Doula’s control
-
Hospital or institutional restrictions
In the event that the Doula is unable to attend:
-
Due to the Doula’s unavailability or error, a refund of one-third (1/3) of the total fee will be issued
-
Due to circumstances beyond the Doula’s control, or late/no notification by the Client, no refund will be provided​
​
9. Alternative & Virtual Support
​
​If in-person attendance is not possible, the Doula will make reasonable efforts to provide remote/virtual support, where appropriate.
​
10. Cancellations & Refunds
​

The initial deposit is non-refundable
-
If the Client cancels services after booking, any payments made may be refunded at the Doula’s discretion, minus the deposit and any services already provided
​
11. Professional Boundaries
​
-
The Doula will always act in the best interests of the Client within the scope of their role
-
The Doula supports the Client’s choices but does not advocate against medical staff or act as a spokesperson unless explicitly agreed in advance
​
12. Agreement
​
By paying the deposit, the Client confirms that they:

Have read and understood the Terms & Conditions
-
Agree to the scope and limitations of the Doula’s role
-
Enter into the agreement voluntarily
